Can you believe that it's been one year since I launched JENOVA ~ a Sephiroth Memorial? Time really does fly. I haven't updated much, but honestly I haven't had much to update. When I originally put JENOVA online, I had wanted to make sure I had as much as possible ready for launch. This is very much a nostalgic project, something to keep up for Sephiroth fans.

So, I hope that if you visit this site on regular basis or just stopping by for the first time, you've enjoyed browsing and taking a bit of a nostalgic trip with me.

Revamped Screenshot and Artwork Sections

I revamped a few of the sections in The Promised Land. Both the Battle Screenshots from Final Fantasy VII and the Official Artwork sections have been completely redone, with some newly added images. I added some Official Artwork that is rarely seen, so check it out!

While on YouTube this week, I found these amazingly funny videos using Final Fantasy Play Arts figures, in the form of stop-motion animation. They're very original and show a different side to your favorite characters. I suggest you check out the videos from WTF!? Productions.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete has been released today in North America on Blu-ray. It features an extended director's cut containing 26 minutes of new footage and over 1,000 revised scenes. Also included is the animated film, One the Way to a Smile ~ Episode: Denzel.

Final Fantasy VII has been released today in North America for the Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable on the Playstation Network. If you don't own the original game or want it on the go, this is the perfect opportunity to get the game at an amazing price of only $9.99, especially compared to Ebay prices!

JENOVA reached 1000 hits yesterday! Thank you! ^^ In honor of this, I have made a few updates. The Promised Land has been updated once again with a few new downloads. I have added some Sephiroth PSP Themes and a pack of really awesome Sephiroth Papercrafts. The Animated GIFs have also been updated. Be sure to check them out!

Thank you once again for helping JENOVA reach 1000 hits! I will continue to work on JENOVA to make it a bigger and better Sephiroth-sama resource! ^^

Dissidia: Final Fantasy FMV Intro

A quick update for the Memorial Day holiday, which @Safer_Sephiroth amd gang are spending at the Shinra company picnic. ^^; New PC and PSP Wallpapers have been added.

The Promised Land has also been updated with the FMV Intro to Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Square-Enix always amazes me with their CG work, and the FMV Intro to Dissidia: Final Fantasy is no exception.

I have updated the The Promised Land with 119 screenshots from Dissidia: Final Fantasy. The screenshots feature Sephiroth, of course, which also include some great screenshots of all 3 costumes he can acquire in the game. Check them out!

The Promised Land has been updated with sheet music from some of Sephiroth's musical themes. The sheet music pack comes in a ZIP file, each theme is labeled in different folders, and each scan is in high-resolution ready for printing.

Sephiroth on Twitter, @Safer_Sephiroth, is doing well and gaining followers for the Reunion. There is a huge Final Fantasy VII presence on Twitter, so I suggest you check it out and keep an open mind. It's all lighthearted and in good fun.

I spent the better half of the morning taking screenshots from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete. I love the new extra scenes, it really makes the film feel much more cohesive. The extra scenes to the final battle between Sephiroth and Cloud is epic! ^^ You can now view all 238 screenshots in The Promised Land. I was struggling a bit, trying to capture them in a productive way, that darn VLC player kept crashing! X_X

I also added a Guestbook to the LINK FREE section. Guestbooks are a very 90's sort of thing, but I'm all about the nostalgia! Go on and sign it!

A Few Updates

After the uploading all the pages online, I noticed some errors and a few dead links. Those have been properly updated. Sephiroth animated GIFs are now in The Promised Land, as well as a MIDI music pack, both in ZIP format. Free Talk (this section, obviously) has been revamped a bit, to be a bit more cohesive with the rest of the site, as it had a complete differently layout.

The LINK FREE section has been added with banners and buttons to link back to JENOVA. There is also Fanlisting links and outbound links. Be sure to check them out and join the Fanlistings to show your support! ^^

Welcome to JENOVA ~ a Sephiroth Memorial, a homage to the late 90's Internet; the era of self-expression through Final Fantasy VII fan sites, fan art galleries and webrings. The Web has now been consumed by Social Media Networks and Blogs. People have shifted away from creating web sites and use MySpace as their way to express themselves on the Internet.

I remember setting up a Geocities account to publish my very own Sephiroth Shrine, Sephiroth No Sekai. If you were a gamer and had Internet access, you most likely had a Fansite of some sort. Guestbooks, MIDI background music, animated GIFs, it was all common and it was great. Sure, you had to dumpster dive, but when you found an amazing site, it was worth it.

JENOVA is meant to be a time machine of sorts and provide a small glimpse into what the experience used to be like and also offer something new.
